Often feel a failure in adjusting your diet and health? Maybe it’s because we haven’t tried to regulate food intake according to our blood type. A naturopathic doctor named Doctor Peter J. D’Adamo, believes that blood type can affect our digestive system. According to Dr. D’Adamo in his book entitled ‘Eat Right for Your Type’ states that each blood type will react differently to the food we eat. Our body will digest food well if we eat according to the needs of our blood type intake. That way, our body becomes healthier, not susceptible to disease, and body weight will drop stably.
Blood Type O
Blood Type O tends to have a higher amount of acids in their stomach; therefore, they are able to digest protein and fat easily. Dr. D’Adamo recommends a high protein on lean meat, seafood (particularly for weight loss), vegetables, fruits, and olive oil. In addition, they should also be paired with vigorous aerobic exercise.
Dr. D’Adamo also recommends for those with type O blood focuses on avoiding wheat, corn, kidney beans, dairy, and caffeine and alcohol.
Blood Type A
Individuals with type A blood may have lower levels of stomach acid than other blood types and a higher natural propensity for developing other diseases, such as cancer and diabetes. A meat-free diet based on vegetables and fruits, beans, legumes, and whole grains – ideally organic and fresh is recommended for type A blood.
Due to its sensitive immune system, type A blood should avoid dairy, venison, poultry other than chicken and turkey, and certain fruits such as oranges, strawberries, mangos, and melons. With this diet, type A blood potentially prevent the development of life-threatening diseases.
Blood Type B
Unlike the other blood type, type B blood has more flexibility and the ability to thrive in changeable conditions. Dr. D’Adamo suggests eggs, oats, dairy, animal protein, green vegetables, and fish.
However, for type Bs, the biggest factor in weight gain are corn, wheat, tomatoes, peanuts, and sesame seeds. Each of these food affects the efficiency of the metabolic process, resulting in fatigue, fluid retention, and a severe drop in blood sugar.
Blood Type AB
Last not but least, type AB blood is rare – it’s found in less than five percent of the population. They share both the benefits and challenges of both Type A and Type B blood types. Type AB should pay attention to combining certain foods. They’ll digest and metabolize foods more efficiently if they avoid eating starches and proteins in the same meal.
Those with type AB blood should eat vegetables, fruit, grains, fish, lamb, tofu, and dairy. For weight loss, tofu, seafood, green vegetables, and kelp are best but caffeine, corn, buckwheat, and alcohol should be avoided.
